Passing Through Narita

We were exhausted by our flight from D.C. (~13.5 hours) but, Narita was still fun.  We had about an hour and a half to toodle around.

The first thing we did, after taking care of some necessities, was head to the massage chairs.

Dave zoned out in massage chair (Narita)

That’s me, feeling pretty relaxed after a ten-minute session in the chair.  These things work quite well.  I recommend trying one if you are ever in Narita.  For some reason they seem to be infrequently used, at least compared to how awesome they are: on a relatively busy afternoon, we only saw one other person using one (another gaijin), and they have a set of 3-4 massage chairs lined up every three gates or so.

We then hit a few spots and got ourselves some food, as we were sick of the airplane “food.”  I chose sushi, ‘cause hey, we were in Japan (even if just the airport):

This was really quite good sushi, but it cost me about $15.  Worth it, I think.

Suzanne got herself some mushroom-broth udon noodles, which were also oishii (delicious).

I had a coffee too which was good, pretty strong and tasty.  All in all, we were impressed by the quality of Narita’s food.  迚も美味しいです! (It was very delicious!)

Finally, on my way out I got a little ice-cream cup from a vendor near our gate.  It was kawaii (cute) and tasty in a very Japanese way.

On to Singapore!
